Motorsport — Building Around Performance
Sport never really went away. I still play basketball and go for a run — and more recently discovered motorsport through supporting a young driver from Munich competing in a Formula 3 racing series.
It started with a chance conversation at a business reunion. Less than six weeks later, Monza was on the calendar.
The sporting potential was there, but the resources to compete were not. Bringing people and businesses together around that potential helped make the race weekend possible — and put me inside the team for the full experience: paddock and garages, evening track walks, and seeing first-hand how driver, engineers, technology, preparation and external conditions interact.
He went on to win at Monza — his third consecutive victory at Formula 1 circuits after the Red Bull Ring and Imola, taking him back to the top of the Austria Formula Cup standings.
That got me hooked. Not only on motorsport, but on what surrounds performance: the people, technology, partnerships and structures that allow talent to progress.
It also brought me back to my own experience as a young athlete. Today, I want to combine what I have learned across competitive sports, business and volunteering to support ambitious young athletes in building that wider performance ecosystem — and taking the next step when talent alone isn’t enough.
